'American Idol' shocks and pleases

I apologize for my late blog on the finale last night, I must say I had to go to bed for a busy tomorrow. Now that it has ended, I say in a sadden tone, I cannot stop myself from writing about American Idol. Last night had thrills and when I say thrills I mean heart attack, roller coaster, getting paid from your first job THRILLS. Even those examples are too weak to describe last night.

First off, let me comment on the guests: Lional Richie, Steve Martin, Kiss, Keith Urban, Jason Mraz, Queen, Queen Latifah, Fergie and The Black Eyed Peas, and Rod Stewart as well as new judge Kara DioGuardi all performed! They were jaw-dropping. Excuse if I left a name out, there were so many! Especially Kara's performance.

I always thought she would try to stand up and sing because of her interaction with little miss bikini, but not like that! After Ryan had cheesily gave the award to bikini girl, she sang, and right behind her appeared Carrie, and quite amazing indeed. At the end of her performance she opened her dress to show her "hot bod" afront of America. It was so quick and a great comeback. I know she still hates bikini girl. Gosh, what was her name?

My only problem was, these award thingies seemed a little rehearsed, however the crazy Tatiana Del Toro , was quite real and crazy itself. Tatiana got her award, and once again fought her way into singing. She could have been capable of winning, but LORDY, she was the child in the supermarket where the parents give themselves a whooping instead of the kid.

Enough with performances, although they were a huge highlight. Especially the returning losers that continue to tingle in my brains. They were all allowed to sing with the guests, but a few actually did well. It was a nightmare to see those who horribly sung on my television screen. AHHH go away now! My mosted hated contestant is Megan Corkery. She cannot, and will not ever sing a successful note. Also, did you catch her dancing?! What was she doing? She was trying to crunk and jump, and twist in all sorts of ways it was too funny I was unable to laugh! The finale proved once more why most contestants didn't belong.

I want to talk about Adam and Kris. Their performances touched the audience in their special way. Adam performed like a performer! He was loud and unique it blew my mind. The largest event that really surprised me was when Kiss broke out behind Adam and they sung wonderful, legendary songs, TOGETHER. The exploding lights, electric guitars, awesome outfits, it just whirl winded me away I might add that performance to my myspace. My heart exploded and I became hypnotized as I repeatedly kept saying "Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my freaken GOD!" I wanted to shut myself up! Adam is now officially the new idol to my idol list.

Not the American Idol of course. Kris's performance was magical. He sang with Jason Mraz which made me feel jello like. It's that feeling you get when you jump into the pool after sitting in the hot tub for hours. It may be cold, but once you're in there your legs and arms get all floppy, making you the next generation of Gumby. It too also exploded my heart. I felt like I was at an indie concert and sweeping my head rhythmically to the music, deep in another world. Beautiful. His performance wasn't as elaborate or death defying, it was imaginatively sweet and caring.

Kris's win was a shocking one, and that must suck to hear from others saying, "Really, he one?" Well, yes he in fact did. I had a feeling he would subconsciously. It was my psychic ability bugging me in my dreams again. I'm satisfied with the result, for if Adam won, it would have been a mess. He would have haters and forever be known as "the screamer." Well, he will be known as that. However, I feel he'll be better off somewhere else, working with other record companies. I hope he doesn't fade off into the distant like past contestants. All I know is, I'm downloading their versions of the winning song. I can't remember the name, mostly because it's a bit cheesy, but I'll look it up.

This season was unbelievably strange, horrendous, extreme, and fantastic rolled into a ball of yarn (blue and green of course). The best I've seen of any of the season finales. My only question is, how come no "American Idol Gives Back?" I hope this recession isn't killing the most watch television show in the world! Just kidding, the U.S. can be a bit selfish to whom they release their goodies to. And that's a FACT ;D

American Idol have Paula Abdul and No Doubt

Paula Abdul has had the chance to perform for the first time on the American Idol stage, however she chose to lip sync. If you had the chance to perform on the stage, why would you choose to sync it all? Paula also went back to her 80's style, but the young, sexy chick she tried to become, seemed foolish. She tried to prove she was still a hottie, but I doubt she needed to dance in such a provacative manner.

No Doubt also performed tonight. Gwen Stefani on the otherhand took advantage and rocked with her old band. She went back to her beloved roots dancing and singing with her punk attire. The good ol' nineties right? It was said they are back on tour and becoming one again. I wouldn't want to miss my chance to seeing this band on T.V. or in person any time soon!

Overall, Paula Abdul rocked a performance, but compared to Britney Spears; not in a total bad way, I actually enjoy the Spears family. No Doubt showed spirit and, in my opinion, are like U2. Sorry for those who have to hear me go on and on to one of my favorite fans, but when it comes to music, the best time to express it is with others who you love and care for. It's music chemistry!

I was wondering, could you change your name?

My grandparents came to America to be accepted and make a better life for themselves in this wonderful free land. No one told them to change their skin color, accent, or heritage when they walked into the red, white, and blue country. So why is now that the Chinese immigrants are asked to change their name? For those who do not speak their language, it was said it would be easier to call upon them. They might as well had asked them to strip them from their soul completely!

Are we becoming the stereotypical "White Man's" land? The ridiculous proposal makes me wonder why do we have the lines "For the Brave and the Free" in our National Anthem? Obviously for the won Revolutionary War, but it means much more than that. We are all immigrants and we fought to come to this country for freedom and individuality. We stood our ground, came for a future, and yet, they reply, "Is it too much to ask of you to change your name?" Oh my! What we'll we wear? Should we also dress a certain way and live in the suburbs? The houses sure don't seem to argue with their identical appearance.

It's not like this is new. Sanae, an immigrant from the Philippines, was told she must change her age. As a proud U.S. football fan, she actually doesn't mind. She knows it isn't fair, but if it means being two years younger, than why not? I strongly disagree. I understand it is hard to pronounce certain names, but isn't that what this country is about? We are a country full of different colors, speeches, and goals, but we all stand for the same thing in this country. Freedom is not just escaping, it is living as yourself, a person, and being able to enjoy that without the hatred others cause.

All aboard, the train is coming!

Am I scared? Scared of what? Oh yes the train tracks! Nothing to be scared of expect the fact someone is going to glue on metal detectors' favorite victims. Oh my, how agonizing it will be. I finally got through all my uncomfortable dental work and now the omen I've been waiting for: Braces.

By next week I shall be wearing car parts on my teeth and talk with an awkward slur. No disrespect to those who have or had braces, but my face is not equip for adapting to these bars. Others who first get their braces seem to cringe as they try to cover their mouths with embarrassment. But it's after awhile, when they begin to look natural and you can hardly tell the braces are there.

I'm still worried, however. What if I never look natural? What if they end up staying on longer than the eight to nine months they estimated? I would like a Colgate smile, but the braces; Ooh!

The bright side of this all, is that I could care less about the silly names others will call me. It's all elementary. "Brace face!" They'd snicker and end it with a Nelson "Ha ha!" Please, like I would waste my time caring what others joke of my metal mouth.

In the end this had to come. Just like tenant shots and picture days, it's going to come sooner or later. I figure I might as well enjoy this process. Besides, nine months isn't so bad. That's the shortest time I've ever heard of compared to others. Some have theirs on for four years! If my mom could carry me for nine months, then why should I worry over this zipper for my teeth? Okay, I stretched that zipper joke there.

Last day of Spring Break, means beginning for responsibility

Nobody gives better hugs than my 3-year-old brother. I nearly fell trying to clasp onto my door.

"Alisya! Good Morning!" He yells in my face. I picked him up and sat him on the table for breakfast; possibly the last of breakfasts we will be able to share until the next school break. I pulled out the almost empty bag of Fruit Loops and poured them until his eyes popped out; just one of many little games we play.

Everyday of my break, my brother and I have been able to spend a lot of time together. It is unlikely we ever get to play during school and on weekends. This break has came to us fast, but it sure didn't take it's time to stay. We never had to go to any Incredible Chuckie's of some sort, but just stayed in the comfort of our own backyard. Many adventures digging up stuff we weren't suppose to and playing catch with our dog became a part of history back there.

Now that today happens to be the last day of spring break, he's become tired and doesn't realize it's hard to keep playing as soon as I start school again. I may have broke the little guy for all he does is lay down and watch DVDs. As he's sound asleep, I only wish break could be longer.

School has it's upside, but this ultimately is it's down. During the break I had reading logs; courtesy of Dei Rossi. I quickly got them out of the way but it did end up making him cranky that I couldn't fix his Ice Cream Truck made of a beaten cardboard box and duct tape. I sigh not able to wake him up, and wonder if I could limit on the responsibilities I take on at school and after.

Two weeks may sum up others as they visited Paris, France or even San Francisco, but home is the only place I want to be. Last day of spring break only starts a new day of having to ignore my little buddy. I hope there will be enough time to play games as there is responsibility. May I treasure his funny dances and dirt filled hair as he continues to peep through the holes of our neighbor's fence. Oddly during our time, no pictures were taken, but as long as we are able to keep enjoying ourselves, we won't need any.

Hope everybody had a fantastic spring break and see you soon!

Save some power, It's Earth Hour!

If you haven't heard, today is Earth Hour where many people are expected to turn off their lights and other electronics from 8:30pm to 9:30pm local time. Today is the third annual worldwide event. It is a time when we as people can appreciate our planet Earth and at the same time show how easy it is to conserve. Millions of homes and businesses and hundreds of major landmarks will go dark for one hour to show that energy conservation is important and to send this message to political leaders attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December 2009.

It is said that lighting accounts for about 11 percent of a typical American homes energy bills, while computers and electronics add another 9 percent. So by shutting off these things when were not using them, we can lower our load significantly. Major places around the world are supporting such as Las Vegas whose bright lights will shut off for a complete hour! Literally everywhere around the globe from New York City to Paris, France will conserve energy as we support our Earth on this pleasant day.

Remember, there are also many other ways we can keep our Earth healthy and spare some bills by checking out The Daily Green today! Just remember to have a wonderful night!

American Idol has my vote!

American Idol last night has ultimately changed my voting style. I am one of the few who actually dislike Danny Gokey for it seems he's getting unnecessary praise. Okay he can sing, but I disagree he's the best. Adam Lambert, on the other hand, I've always had a little fond over. He's so weird and has that rocker voice from famous 70's bands. But last night may have seriously decided who is capable of winning American Idol. Last night Lambert sang "Tracks of My Tears," and not only did he dominate the song but he managed to create an unforgettable moment. Nobody expected his soft and soulful voice to come out. Simon praised him and said "That was the best performance of tonight," rather than new coming judge Kara DioGuardi's comment of just being "One of" the greatest. Grr, she's annoying. He doesn't seem to stop surprising fans and I don't expect to see him at in the bottom three tonight. "TEAM ADAM!" I'll shout.

The worst of the night who may have saved a lot of behinds was the "Elaine Dancer," Megan Joy. Not only can she not dance, but WOWZERS, she cannot sing! She always plays the same tune of trying to soulfully jazz everything out, but what kind of artist are you? Yes, jazzy I suppose, but contestants should know that they are fighting to becoming the next American Idol, someone who can sing just about anything. These songs are meant to test how well your vocals are and what you are capable of doing. If a contestant chooses to stay with the same routine, how are we suppose to choose an artist? There is no uniqueness. However, Megan Joy's voice style is the least of her worries. Her voice is, how would you say, wobbly? Out of tune and out of charm she needs to go home once and for all.

American Idol is on tonight at 8 p.m. Hope you join me as I cheer for Lambert's safety and ironically Joy's departure.
